On September 26, 2015, internationally renowned poet Rita Dove was presented one of China’s most prestigious poetry awards, adding yet another groundbreaking accolade to her remarkable career. The Pulitzer Prize-winning former U.S Poet Laureate and Commonwealth Professor of English was awarded China’s 10th Poetry & People International Prize, becoming the first American and first English-speaking poet ever to receive the honor.   Hosted in Guangdong Province, the ceremony was presented by the leading poetry magazine, Poetry & People, which was founded by noted Chinese poet Huang Lihai.
