Hitchcock Fest
This Fall, a group of Media Studies students taking a course developed by Media Studies and Sociology Professor Andrea Press entitled “The Films of Alfred Hitchcock and Douglas Sirk” have had a chance to learn some of the inside secrets of the Master of Horror while honing their own screenwriting skills with noted Hollywood screenwriter Jeff Wadlow. Wadlow, a Charlottesville native, most recently wrote and directed the Universal Studios feature Kick Ass 2 and is writing and directing X Force, the latest in the blockbuster X Men series, due in 2016. Focusing on the writing and storyboarding processes that Hitchcock himself so deeply valued, the class will culminate in an early December event featuring a reading of the student scripts. Wadlow will be joined by journalist and film and television scriptwriter Marjorie Rosen, who is serving as a consultant on the project.
