Boucher’s Departure Paves Way for Search of New Director
Provost Tom Katsouleas has launched an international search for a new Director of The Fralin Museum of Art at UVA, following the appointment of Bruce Boucher to the directorship at the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London. Bruce relinquishes his post as director in May of 2016, after serving more than six years in this role. During his tenure, Boucher oversaw a $2 million renovation of the Thomas H. Bayly building, curated multiple critically-acclaimed international exhibitions and oversaw the development of many new arts education programs, as well as the development of plans for a new wing to the existing building.
“It has been a privilege to work with so many remarkable colleagues, in advancement of The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia. It has been gratifying to see the arts grow to become such an integral part of the overall University student experience. I look forward to hearing of the continued progress of the expansion initiative, knowing how profoundly this new wing will impact the experience for students and art lovers in our community.”
